I finally started to unpack my books and stuff. Here's what I did with the faux fireplace. Wendy Jo calls it a giant version of one of my collage boxes. I call it a mantle. More of this and I should be a bit happier. Also, bought a couch. That tomorrow.

Well, I better be. It's been kind of killing me to keep quiet for so long. These photos are so washed out, by the way. It's much more colorful than this.
Yes, I bought that lamp one day in New York. I was about to go work at domino and I walked past an open studio in Times Square--very unlikely neighborhood for a lamp studio. I saw the lamp and fell in love. It's a bit askew from the move, but I will fix it eventually!
I like your natural looking photos-- makes me feel as if I'm there- and I think you've struck a lovely balance of interesting objects. Thanks for the post, Nadine Bouler
I had to go back and look at the old photos to be sure that was the same fireplace. You've worked wonders! The lamp is an especially cool anchor piece. Great job, and welcome back :)

Every piece looks so lovingly selected, but it's the lamp that makes me swoon.
